About Us

Modular CNC Technology has been in the design and build business for over 13 years. We have designed everything from small greasing fixtures to large custom auto-loading CNC Milling machines. We are experts at "Value Engineering". Not all custom machinery has to cost an arm and a leg, all it takes is a little thought and experience to know where to find the best components at the lowest prices that work for the application.

We are currently selling standard machinery components to help businesses and hobbyists that want to build their own machinery. We also are available to design and build custom orders as well. We also now have in house machining capabilities along with many good sources for larger quantity items.

Other Web Presence

We sell products on eBay, user ID cnc-empire.

We also have a few websites that have useful information on them as well:

SHIPPING INFORMATION:

Please allow 7 - 14 business days for most orders and 2 - 4 weeks for the 3 axis machines. I carry most of the parts in inventory but don't have the space to pre-assemble machinery. This translates to lower costs for our customers with no need to pay for inventory overhead and storage and also allows for more options available as each item can be customized. If you are in a rush for your product, please call to find out current production times and faster delivery options.

CNC Router Information

Here is some quick information to help with completing your CNC router.

Spindle: Harbor Freight 1/4" Laminate Trim Router (2.5" body diameter)

Shaft Couplers: We carry these, please see our products.

Electronics package: www.xylotex.com and others. The type of electronics package you get will depend on your level of electronics experience and what you want to do. I like Xylotex because you can buy a complete finished controller with motors or you can buy just the board and get the other items you need separately (motors, power supply, fan, enclosure, etc.).

Software: You should use the software that works best with the electronics kit you choose. They will have recommendations.

PC: You should use the type of computer that is recommended by the software. Some need an older computer that boots in DOS mode but there are others that can run on XP.

Work Holding: This can be easily accomplished by using a "spoil board" piece or sacrifice piece. You bolt your work piece to the spoil board and then bolt the spoil board to the table top. This allows to cut through the work piece and into the spoil board without ruining the machine top plate.

CNC Programs: You will need to generate G & M codes to operate your CNC Machine. This can be done in many ways. You can buy your programs form others on the internet, you can hand write code, you can purchase a CAM program that allows you to draw in there software and generate code from that, or draw in a separate CAD program and import it into you CAM program for CNC code generation.

About the Owner

Hi All,

My name is Andy as most of you know. I run Modular CNC and CNC Empire. I do a lot of the work myself. Everything from products design to website building. I do have an excellent machinist that I trust with the machining of my parts. When I do get alot of orders I have people over to help on a part time basis. This is the only way that I can get my prices to be this low. This is the reason why some of your orders get delayed.

I have been designing and building machinery and fixtures since 1996. My mechanical aptitude showed up when I became my father's mechanic at the age of 15 (nothing professional, just oil, brakes, tune-ups).

I do enjoy creating products that people can use and don't cost a fortune. I am always open to new ideas. Contact me if you need anything and I'll try and help you.

Thanks,

Andy
